Waco Edge Win Two

Undefeated Waco Edge faced FC Barcelona once again this season. FC Barcelona wanting retribution for their previous lose to the Edge 7 to 1, attempted early to move fast against Edge’s strong defense. Edge’s defense would not allow Barcelona the opportunity to make a run on their goal and would systematically thwart their efforts for a goal and would advance the ball to the Edge’s dominating midfield for transition. Edge’s midfield and forwards would command the pitch and execute their plays resulting in four goals. Barcelona, desperate not to be shut out employed the old intentional foul trick that resulted in one of Edge’s strong defensive players to receive a red card and get ejected from the game with 15 min left to play. Edge did not fold, and refused Barcelona a score. Edge shut out Barcelona 4-0.

Waco Edge kicked off their second game of the day with the third ranked U14 team 458. The first half Edge dominated the pitch, but with several attempts on the goal failed to connect. Team 458 did push into the Edge’s defense on the first half, but was stopped from any strong attempts on the Edge’s goal. With a 0-0 score at the half, Edge came out determined to score and win. Edge Toes Off With The Eliminators

Waco Edge with their undefeated division standings toed off with the goliaths of the U14 division. The Eliminators with their intimidating height and weight came out like an American football team instead of a soccer team. The Edge was familiar with goliath players from seasons past and was not impressed or intimidated with this full contact soccer. Edge would focus on the task at hand, and that was scoring. Edges’s razor sharp players new how to defeat such a giant and that was with speed. Edge would use fast passing tactics and maneuvering in and out of the Eliminator's giants. Edge scored fairly early in the first half with went unanswered. Then in the second half the Eliminators with their full contact soccer fouled an Edge player that resulted in a scoring penalty kick from outside the Eliminators penalty box. The Edge not satisfied with two goals would score a third goal late in the second half. By this time the Eliminators and their following was frustrated. However, with the evening sun blinding the face of the Edge’s defenses and goalkeeper the Eliminators would have a lucky kick that resulted in a score with two minutes left in the game. The Edge retained there division standing and remain undefeated with a 3 to 1 victory over The Eliminators.

Boca Juniors came to play their third division game this season with a shinning 8 goals for and 0 goals scored against. Waco Edge brought their 9 goals for and 1 goal scored against and a thirst to win.

Boca Juniors kicked off to start the match. Boca would immediately charge into to dominate the Edge’s defending side. However, Boca Juniors, failed to realizes that the Edge’s defense would remain tight and would not spread to leave open spaces for Boca to operate. Edge’s defense would shut Boca down and advance the ball to their midfielders to build up an attacking play.

Boca Juniors defense was not one to recon with, holding a spotless 0 scores against them. However, the Edge saw this as a challenge and not an obstacle. Waco Edge with their speed and quick passing would penetrate deep into Boca’s defense. Boca’s defense was strong and held the Edge until late in the first half. Then the Edge opened up Boca’s defense and with a cross play Boca Juniors had been scored against by the Edge, shattering their impenetrable defense.

Wanting retribution, Boca Juniors came out the second half fighting. Waco Edge would fight back to maintain their lead. Edge’s defense appeared impenetrable to Boca, like a brick wall. Edge’s midfielders and strikers continued to press Boca’s defense. Then with less then 5 minutes in the game, Edge sliced through Boca’s defense once more and placed one to the back of the net. This would then seal the fate of Boca Juniors. The Edges defense stood fast and the Edge shut out Boca Juniors 2-0.
