Waco Blast 2, Midway 1

Midway playing their last game of the season faced off with Waco Blast once more. This time Midway was seeking a victory from their pervious loss to the Blast. Waco Blast brought an early score in the first half with Midway fighting back hard in the 30 degree weather. Midway would answer back with a score early in the second half. Midway and the Blast both struggled to clench a victory as their fire within bellowed from their steaming breaths in the cold evening air. The Waco Blast, late in the second half, got a lucky break and scored. But, as the past sometimes repeats it self, Midway ran out of time. With freezing fingers and toes Midway fought with great pride. The Waco Blast won 2 to 1 over the Midway Panthers.

I would like to give a big pat on the back to all the Midway Middle School Soccer players for a great soccer season. Great Job.

Midway 3, Temple Storm 0

Midway faced off with select team Temple Storm. During the first half Storm's lightning fast speed equaled that of the Panthers with neither team being able to score. Then the Panther's would weather the Storm during the second half. With the first score being thundered in by #17, Ian Field, he opened up the flood gates. Then #7, Emanuel Barbus, rained in two more scores. The Midway Panthers ripping through the Temple Storm like a hurricane leaving the Storm looking more like a spring shower.

Midway 2, FC Barsalona 0

Midway faces off with FC Barsalona the number one HOT Soccer team that won their division at the HOT Soccer Recreational playoffs. At the start of the first half Midway moved quick to put one in Barsalona's goal, but Barsalona's goalie denied the score. Midway and Barsalona battled back and forth across the field with numerous shots at each others goals. Late in the first half Midway broke free with a quick break and placed one in Barcalona's goal that stuck. Then early in the second half it appeared that Barsalona was going to answer back with a score, but it was futile with the Midway goalie being impenetrable. Midway would then make another score with a cross play assuring their victory over FC Barsalona.

Midway 3, Tigers 2

Tigers with a rematch with Midway brought the game on early with the first score. However, the Tigers effort to dominate was thwarted by Ian #17 knocking in the first score for Midway. The Tigers answered back at the beginning of the second half with a quick score, but Midway would not stand for that and hammered in two more scores leaving the Tigers looking like kittens.
